Master of Media Arts

Descripción

The Master's Program in Media Arts is a four-semester program that brings together students from the arts and related disciplines, with diverse backgrounds from universities across the country and abroad. Its curriculum is interdisciplinary, focusing on artistic exploration, research, and creation. It aims to provide theoretical and applied tools related to contemporary artistic practices within a framework of experimental options through the integration of media and disciplines.

This integration fosters the creation and realization of original works, incorporating technological, conceptual, and expressive resources.

Plan de estudios

The Master's Program is organized into a semester-based system with a flexible curriculum. The program comprises a total of 90 credits, each representing 27 hours of student work.

The program is organized into four semesters, with a total of 48 credits corresponding to required courses. Of these, 15 credits correspond to courses in the Technological Applications track (Technological Applications A, Technological Applications B, Technological Applications C, Laboratory A, Laboratory B, and Laboratory C); 10 credits to courses in the Media Theory and Aesthetics track (Seminar, Methodology A, and Methodology B); and 23 credits to courses in the Authorial Project track (Workshop A, Workshop B, Workshop C, Workshop D, and Practical Seminar Workshop). A total of 12 credits are allocated to Elective Complementary Courses and 30 credits to the development of the AFE (Academic Project).

Additionally, students must complete three follow-up activities that do not lead to credits but must be passed: Midterm I, Midterm II, and the Colloquium. Midterms are meetings held midway through the first (Midterm I) and third (Midterm II) semesters, designed to provide a space for reflection on the initial exercises and/or authorial proposals of first- and second-year students. The Colloquium, on the other hand, marks the formal approval of the AFE project and is a feedback activity between the faculty and the students in their final semester, open to the public.

The mandatory and elective curricular activities will be determined from among those established in the study plan by mutual agreement between the student and the Academic Committee of the Program, who will guide him in accordance with the requirements of the program and the orientation of his authorial degree project.
