Plan de estudios
The Master's Program is organized into a semester-based system with a flexible curriculum. The program's curricular activities are expressed in credits.
The program is organized into four semesters, with a total of 90 credits to complete its curriculum, each representing 27 hours of student work. 48 credits correspond to required courses, 27 to Musical Interpretation Seminars, 16 to Theoretical Courses, 5 to the AFE Project Seminar-Workshop, 12 to Elective Complementary Courses, and 30 credits exclusively for the development of the Thesis-Equivalent Formative Activity (AFE).
The Thesis-Equivalent Formative Activity is the fundamental curricular activity of the Master's Program in Musical Performance and will consist of an interpretive proposal of a specific instrumental repertoire, along with a supporting written text. This is an individual assignment and should focus on a proposed concert program and a description of the strategies developed by the student to carry out their performance. The Performance Analysis (AFE) must be the result of an instrumental interpretation analysis that includes defining a problem associated with the chosen repertoire, researching and discussing current bibliographic references, and connecting them to the musical and instrumental skills acquired throughout the program.
Students must complete a minimum of 12 elective credits, which may be taken within the academic offerings of other Postgraduate Programs in the Faculty of Arts or the University of Chile. Prior authorization from the Academic Committee will be required to verify and approve the appropriateness of the chosen electives.
The areas of specialty are Guitar, Piano, Harpsichord, Trombone, Saxophone, Clarinet, Trumpet, Bassoon, Oboe, Violin, Cello, Viola, Double Bass, Orchestral Conducting, and voice.
