APEC University Leaders’ Forum
Since 2001, the University of Chile has actively participated in the APEC University Leaders’ Forum, engaging university and business leaders in relevant policy dialogues. The University hosted this forum in 2004 and 2019, demonstrating its leadership and commitment to developing educational and business policies in the region.
Women Leaders in Asia-Pacific
This program empowers female leadership in academia and other sectors, promoting gender equality and the development of women leaders across various fields. The initiative aims to strengthen capacities and opportunities for women in academia and beyond.
Indigenous Knowledge and First Nations Network
The University of Chile is dedicated to preserving and integrating indigenous knowledge through the Indigenous Knowledge and First Nations Network. In 2024, the University will host an in-person workshop titled “Indigenous Sciences/Indigenous Knowledges: Discussions and Contributions for a Common Future,” which will take place from November 4 to 8. This event will bring together experts and communities to discuss and contribute to a common future based on indigenous knowledge.
Provosts’ Forum
The University of Chile participated in the Provosts’ Forum in 2018 and 2022, a platform that brings together academic leaders to discuss and develop innovative educational strategies. This forum facilitates the exchange of ideas and best practices in higher education.
University Museums
The university museums of the University of Chile use their collections to promote research and public engagement. These institutions are crucial in preserving cultural heritage and educating the community.
Vice Presidents for Research
The University of Chile coordinates research initiatives and collaborations by participating in APRU’s network of Vice Presidents for Research. In 2024, the Vice President for Research and Development at the University of Chile, Prof. Christian González-Billault, participated in a meeting organized by the University of Science and Technology of China. This event is an opportunity to strengthen collaborations and advance joint research.
