Seminario DAS: First transient alerts from Rubin Observatory

Abstract: The presence of liquid water and pre-biotic molecules is a necessary condition for the origins of life on Earth and other rocky planets. The talk will discuss the steps towards a habitable Earth and will present an early Earth model for the synthesis of the key pre-biotic molecule HCN. This molecule is at the origin of amino acids, nucleobases and ribonucleotides and therefore of primary importance for the early steps towards life. The talk will also discuss the formation of complex organic molecules under low-temperature conditions.
