Université Côte d'Azur Offers Mobility Opportunities for Universidad de Chile

Université Côte d'Azur (UniCA) is pleased to announce the opportunity to enhance collaboration with the Universidad de Chile through its SPECTRUM Graduate School, specializing in Formal, Physical, and Engineering Sciences. UniCA offers grants for research and academic stays between January 2025 and July 2026 to lecturers, post-docs, and PhD students from the Universidad de Chile who have recognized expertise in mathematics, physics, astrophysics, and/or Earth sciences. A B2 level of English proficiency is required.

 

Available Grants and Duration

  • Doctoral Students: 5 grants available, each for a 5-month stay.
  • Teaching or Training/Observation Visits: 4 grants available, each for a 12-day stay.

Application Process

The Universidad de Chile will review applications before being forwarded to the SPECTRUM Graduate School at Université Côte d'Azur. To apply, please submit your application documents in English and combine them into a single PDF file. Name the file using the following format: UdeChile_LastName_FirstName_FrenchHostLab.

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Motivation Letter detailing your scientific project
  • Evaluation Form (attached) completed by your supervisor
  • Letter of Recommendation from your host laboratory team in France
  • For doctoral students, Master's Transcripts showing your ranking

The Universidad de Chile’s International Direction will submit applications to Université Côte d'Azur. Applications must be submitted at least three months before the intended departure date.

  • Deadline: October 15, 2024 | Results Announced By: November 15, 2024 | Mobility Period: January 2025 - August 2025
  • Deadline: May 15, 2025 | Results Announced By: June 15, 2025 | Mobility Period: September 2025 - January 2026
  • Deadline: October 15, 2025 | Results Announced By: November 15, 2025 | Mobility Period: January 2026 - July 2026

 

Selection Process

Grant recipients will be selected by the SPECTRUM Graduate School committee based on the applicant's profile and qualifications. The selection will also consider the potential for long-term collaboration between the two universities, including the added value of the stay regarding knowledge sharing, interdisciplinarity, and future collaboration prospects (e.g., post-doctoral opportunities and student exchanges).

 

Funding Details

  • PhD Students: €850 per month
  • Staff: €160 per day (subsistence allowance)
  • All Participants: €1,500 round-trip travel package
